About Our Veterans and Military Supporters Group
Community Service in Manatee and Sarasota County
We serve our local community in Del Webb Lakewood Ranch via programs like Operation Outreach. If a member of our Manatee and Sarasota County community has a specific need identified - large or small - our membership rallies to provide support and services.
Supporting Active Military and Families
Knowing that our active military have occasional struggles and needs, our Veterans and Military Supporters group bands together to conduct events like Operation Thanksgiving. The food baskets we provide to those serving at MacDill AFB around the holiday season are always welcomed. On Veterans Day in 2018 our group made a donation to Manasota Operation Troop Support (M.O.T.S.) to help their cause.
Helping Other Veterans Groups
We are all in this together, so the Del Webb AVMS integrates with other local veterans groups like Turning Points to provide volunteer hours and make donations so that they can help their veterans. Our monthly meetings feature guest speakers from groups like Homes For Our Troops, or special resident veterans like Richard Albero who walked from Tampa to the Bronx for the Wounded Warrior Project. Our group is made up of veterans and Del Webb residents. You do not have to be a veteran to be a member. You should join our group and help us offer even more support and services inside and outside our Del Webb community.
We meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at the Del Webb Lakewood Ranch Oasis Amenity Center located at 6915 Del Webb Boulevard. Meetings start at 6:30pm. See you there!
Join Us
We welcome new members both veterans and military supporters. You do not have to be a veteran to be a member of our group.
Help us look for ways to use our years of knowledge to give support to our great community, active military troops, families of deployed soldiers, and the many soldiers that have been left to live in hospitals. We want to make sure they are appreciated and not forgotten.
