AVMS Meeting Minutes October 12, 2026

Call to Order: Bob Turner at 6:38pm

Pledge of Allegiance: Led by President Turner

President’s Remarks:

Bob opened the meeting with a brief tour of the Pensacola Naval/Air Station; and then introduced the new board officers:

John Bastiani Vice President serving a two-year term beginning immediately
Ellen Milbrod serving a two-year term effective January 1, 2027
Rich Greenberg serving a one-year term effective immediately

Coordination with the Castle e-blasts remains difficult.

Lotapalooza sales remain brisk.

Operation Thanksgiving donations exceeded 48% to date with a $300 donation from the Shalom Club presented during the meeting. Bob spoke about the board’s attempts to source other beneficiaries.

Bob announced that the Lakewood Ranch Parade has been cancelled due to a lack of parade participants. In lieu, the November 6th Music on Main will be dedicated to all Veterans. AVMS will provide a color guard at the opening ceremony-Volunteers needed.

Delaney’s on Main will host a luncheon on Saturday the 7th from noon to 2:00pm for all veterans +1. A link will be sent out to register-required.

AVMS has been invited to host a Veterans Day ceremony at Del Webb Catalina at 10:00am followed by our ceremony at 1:00pm.

AVMS will present the Colors for the Manatee County Concert Band event November 14th -Volunteers needed

Flags across Del Webb for Veterans week will be planted November 9th and picked up November 13th -volunteers needed.

A separate email will be sent to all members summarizing the special events and times.
