AVMS Meeting Minutes September 9, 2024
Call to Order: Rich Greenberg, President, called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm. Joe Ward Member, led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Guest Speaker: Ringling College of Art and Design – Lisa Goss spoke about the program that
memorializes Veterans by creating art in their likeness. There will be an open house November 2nd to present the portraits.

Treasurer’s Report – Steve Milbrod reporting:

Secretary’s Report – David Chervin
- 4 of the 5 voting members of the Board were present; Deb Distefano, Member at
Large was absent.
Agenda Items
- Operation Warrior Resolution – a donation of $5,000 was presented to CEO Kendra Simpkins to help rebuild their offices due to damage from Hurricane Debby.
- 9/11 Ceremony – Will be on held Wednesday 9/11 at 10:00am at the Circle of Honor. There will be a luncheon for Veterans and First Responders at The Windsor following.
- Operation Thanksgiving – This year’s campaign will start September 30th. There will be a Golf Cart parade with details forthcoming.
- Member Appreciation Party – Will be held September 21st with details forthcoming.
- Fall Fiesta – This outdoor event will be held October 19th. There will be a Beatles tribute band (Glass Onion) along with an Ice Cream truck. Steve Milbrod stated that ticket sales are expected to reach an all time high.
50/50 – The 50/50 was drawn at the end of the meeting.
