21 Volunteers Assist Manasota Operation Troop Support Scholarship Fundraiser

Twenty one volunteers from the Del Webb Lakewood Ranch AVMS group supported Manasota Operation Troop Support’s scholarship fundraiser on March 23 at this year’s Sarasota County Fair.

“This is our group’s first year volunteering to assist M.O.T.S.,” said Vice-Commander Jerry Hufford, “but it certainly won’t be our last.” AVMS Commander Herman Martinez added, “Our volunteers helped run all aspects of their concession booth serving food and drinks to this year’s fair visitors.” On Veteran’s Day November 2018, Del Webb’s Association of Veterans and Military Supporters kicked off its synergy with M.O.T.S. via a $1,250 donation.

“We welcomed the help at this year’s Fair and extend our thanks to the Del Webb AVMS for their continued support,” said M.O.T.S. Executive Director Linda Craig. “Volunteers young and old, veterans and family members, Del Webb community residents gave up their weekend time to help us raise money for this year’s annual scholarship drive.”
