May 14, 2019 Meeting Minutes

Attendance: 47 members present indicating a quorum.

Call to Order: Treasurer Steve Milbrod called the meeting to order at 6:30pm. Member-at-Large Ernie Wawrowics led the Pledge of Allegiance. Ken Anderson provided the invocation. Treasurer Steve Milbrod welcomed everyone and introduced speaker Shannon Feinroth from Life Law Firm of Sarasota.

Guest Speaker: Shannon Feinroth – Life Law Firm

The speaker focused on benefits for military veterans – which included an explanation of Title 38. She also explained the benefits of her organization and offered to assist anyone needing counseling with trusts, wills, and Powers of Attorney for any reason.

Committee Reports:

Treasurer’s Report:

Steve Milbrod provided the treasurer’s report which will be available on the website for membership review.

Secretary’s Report:

Secretary Pat Sefton took the call of attendance. Commander Martinez and Vice-Commander Hufford were not present, but the remaining board members were present representing a quorum of members. The Secretary asked for approval of the April minutes. Treasurer Steve Milbrod presented the motion, and a second was given by Member-at-Large Ernie Wawrowics. The minutes were approved and will be placed online for review by the general membership .

Membership:

Bob Sharak reported 116 members in good standing. This result indicates a growth of 20%, of which more than half are non-military .

Website:

Treasurer Steve Milbrod provided a brief update on behalf of Chris DiBiase on the status of the website. Steve encouraged all members to visit the site for continual updates and information regarding the activities of the organization, including an update on last month’s meeting regarding Southeastern Guide Dogs. Supply Officer:

Fred Chapman announced he has a full inventory of hats and shirts for both male and female members. Please contact him if interested in purchasing any.

Old Business

Nothing new to report.

New Business

Paul Hartford offered to again coordinate activities regarding Flags over Del Webb. He has some volunteers, but would appreciate additional help. He would like to coordinate a brief meeting next Tuesday to “batch” flags and assign volunteers to groupings for distribution and placement of flags. Interested volunteers will meet next Wednesday from 4-6pm and on Thursday from 2-4pm, whichever is convenient.

Treasurer Steve Milbrod asked new members to please stand and be recognized. He welcomed all new members.

Treasurer Steve Milbrod made a motion to close the meeting which received a second from Ernie Wawrowics. The meeting adjourned at 7:58pm .
