December 13, 2022 AVMS Meeting Minutes
Call to Order: Rich Greenberg, President, called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm. Director-At-Large Joe Ward led the Pledge of Allegiance. Invocation was given by Ken Anderson.
Welcome Remarks: New members were welcomed by President, Rich Greenberg.
Roll Call/Attendance: All five Directors present: Rich Greenberg, Dave Chervin, Steve Milbrod, John Bastiani and Joe Ward.
Officer Reports
Secretary’s Report: Dave Chervin announced that October 2022’s meeting minutes were approved by the Board electronically and are available on our Website. Minutes will be posted on the A.V.M.S. website.
Membership Roster – Dave Chervin reported as of the meeting we have 397 members (Including 100 Veterans).
Treasurer’s Report: Steve Milbrod reported:
Opening balance $32,241.90
Ending Balance $1,333.71
Expenses:
Donations – $31,550
$13,150 – Operation Thanksgiving and MacDill Operation Warm Heart

Committee Reports
John Bastiani reported that the memorial paver link has been taken off our website. It is still available via the Del Webb website.
John also announced openings for a new Chaplain and Supply Officer. Gail Boyle has volunteered to serve as Supply Officer.
Old Business
- Steve Milbrod reported on the results of the Pet Parade. The turnout was smaller than last year and but we are hopeful for improved numbers next year.
- The Windsor Veteran Breakfast – Rich Greenberg reminded all Veterans that they and their spouse/partners are invited the second Wednesday of every month.
- Operation Thanksgiving – Joe Ward reported that (263) $50 gift cards were purchased from the MacDill Air Force Base commissary and (50) $20 gift cards were purchased from Winn Dixie. Additionally late donations of $360 were used to purchase (18) $20 Winn Dixie gift Cards. All cards were presented to the First Sergeant’s group for distribution to needy active duty Airmen.
New Business
Rich Greenberg spoke explained that the Build for Honor ground breaking event will be held at Sapphire Point February 3rd at 3:00 pm. Pulte Homes is donating a mortgage free home to a disabled Iraq veteran.
It was announced that only one nomination each for the open Director positions of Vice-President and Treasurer were received. According to the By-Laws an election was not required. As such John Bastiani and Steve Milbrod will remain in their respective positions.
John Bastiani spoke about the importance of volunteering for positions on the board or helping with various events throughout the year.
Southeastern Guide Dogs – Rich Greenberg stated that a donation would be made in honor of Jerry Hufford.
Talent Show – John Bastiani spoke about our Talent Show to be held February 24th. It is open to all Del Webb residents with a limit of 15 acts. There is a $10 registration fee and any required music must be submitted in advance.
Expanding Beyond the Walls – Rich Greenberg spoke about the possibility of partnering with other nearby developments for various activities or opening memberships to their residents. Examples were Cress Wind and Island Walk.
Corporate Sponsorships – John Bastiani spoke about developing a new program for next year. Corporate sponsorships will be solicited possibly with a reward program such as Gold ($300) Silver ($200) and Bronze ($100). Sponsors will be able to advertise on our website and would receive complimentary admissions to events.
Next Meeting: Tuesday January 10, 2023 at 6:30 pm.
Motion to close the meeting at 7:30 was made by Rich Greenberg and seconded by Joe Ward.
